Good leadership is mostly listening, understanding and taking action. I started leading at a young age: in middle school I and my friend started leading our own scouts troop at our local group. I got another group to lead in high school with another friend and I was usually characterized as the "Dad" since I tended to be a little more laid back than my leading counterpart.
During our final project in University, I was given the task of managing the group which lead me to understand the other parts of leading; resource planning, communication with the client, managing expectations etc. Our project was the "Smart Campus" project given to us by the University of Oulu. We were to design and produce a web of interconnected sensors, university developed tech and TI SimpleLinks that could be used to play an escape room type of game on. Since the premise was huge, we decided to focus on prototyping play scenarios, testing them and making APIs to the different technologies involved. The Smart Campus is being further developed at the University.
